During your first appointment, your practitioner will thoroughly discuss your child’s health, to build an extensive case history. This will include their current health concerns, other body systems that may require support such as gut health, hormonal health, stress, and mental health. We will also discuss dietary and lifestyle factors, medical history, family history and current nutritional status. After the first appointment, your naturopath will formulate a detailed and individualised treatment plan that will be emailed through to you within 48 hours. This treatment plan will include specific dietary and lifestyle advice tailored to supporting your child’s current health concerns. It may also include herbal medicine and nutritional supplements if indicated to further support your child’s health goals. Your Practitioner may also discuss functional testing. We commonly do this, as it is non-invasive and can provide a wealth of information that children often cannot express. This includes stool analysis testing to check for bacterial overgrowths, digestive function, and parasites that may be contributing to an array of symptoms. We also commonly test hair for heavy metals and mineral balances/imbalances. This is useful to determine underlying allergies, mood, behavioural health concerns.
